Today, we share the following news with great joy:
the remaining twenty Israeli hostages, taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023, have finally been released. The first seven hostages were freed early this morning, followed by the remaining thirteen, including Alon Ohel, who also holds Serbian citizenship. Their return was accompanied by security and medical teams, while families and the entire nation eagerly welcomed their loved ones — after two long years and weeks of uncertainty surrounding the final negotiations for their release.
Thousands of people gathered at the Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, waiting and celebrating their return. The release of the hostages is part of a broader exchange, in which Israel will release about 2000 Palestinian prisoners.
Today brings hope and represents an important step towards ending one of the most difficult periods — not only for Israeli families and the state of Israel but also for all Jews around the world.
