At the jubilee XXV international "May Music Festival" in Bijeljina, one of the most significant choral festivals in the region, the Belgrade Choir Braća Baruh achieved a magnificent triumph, winning over both the audience and the expert jury with their brilliant performance.
Competing against 50 ensembles and more than 2,000 choir singers from Serbia, the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, the choir "Braća Baruh" managed to stand out as the absolute laureate of the festival. The ensemble scored a maximum of 100 points in its category, earning the title of category winner, and was subsequently awarded the highest festival prize — the Grand Prix of the festival — by unanimous decision of the expert jury.
This success carries special weight considering that the "May Music Festival" has hosted over 800 choirs and more than 45,000 singers from across the region and Europe over the past two and a half decades, building a reputation as a manifestation of top artistic renown and one of the central events of choral music in the Balkans.
The performance of the choir "Braća Baruh" was marked by impeccable intonation, exceptional sound homogeneity, powerful emotional interpretation, and artistic maturity that left a deep impression on both the international jury and the audience in the packed hall of the Bijeljina Sokolski Dom. Each performed composition carried a special energy and musicality, confirming the high artistic level of the ensemble and the rich tradition that the choir has nurtured for decades.
The audience rewarded the performers with prolonged applause, and numerous visitors and participants singled out the performance of the choir "Braća Baruh" as one of the highlights of this year's festival. In an atmosphere filled with emotions, music, and togetherness, the Belgrade choir managed to achieve what every artist desires — to leave a strong and lasting impression with their performance.
By winning the Grand Prix award at the jubilee "May Music Festival", the choir "Braća Baruh" once again confirmed its status as one of the most prestigious and highest-quality choral ensembles in the region, representing Belgrade, Serbian, and Jewish choral art on the international stage with dignity.
